(YouTube - Art and Design PART 2 -:) GESTURES
Zoom in and zoom out by pinching in and pinching out while pulling toward your body.
Drag down with 3 fingers for a quick menu of Cut/Copy/Paste (AFTER having selected an area)
Hold your finger down on an area to “pick up a color” and then you can draw with that color.
Control the opacity (how “see through” an area is) of a layer in the layers column.
Tap and hold the color circle at the top and it will go back to the previous color.
To make a selection on a portion of a layer: Go to the layer you want, tap and hold with 2 fingers. That will select THAT LAYER ONLY so you can modify that layer only - great for shading, etc.
You can zoom in to the color disc (the middle color circle) to get a more specific color by pinching out with your fingers.

(YouTube - Art and Design PART 3:) BRUSHES
*Start watching at 5:35 for Brush Controls:
(Please do not edit the brushes, since we are all using the same program/Ipads.)
Left side of the screen: Top part of the Toggle = Brush size
Bottom part of the Toggle = Opacity

(YouTube - Art and Design PART 4:) COLORS
You can pick up a color by holding down on an area with your finger or stylus. It will change the stylus to that color.
To go back to the previous color, tap and hold on the “color picker” circle in the top right of the screen. This works especially great if switching back and forth between colors.
To store a color for future use on your piece, tap on one of the squares below the color circle and it will change to that color. You can also move it around to organize the color squares.
To delete a color from the palette: tap and hold and hit the “delete” button that pops up.
To go to a completely white or completely black color, don’t use the color disc. Instead, use the “Classic” mode.
To make your own palette: Tap on the “+” in the upper right, name it, select as default and pick your colors. (The “Classic” screen works well for this - it’s easier to control.
If you want to see a color you've already used, tap the square in the middle of the black bar on the left hand side and drag the circle that pops up to the color you want.
------------------------------------------
(YouTube - Art and Design PART 5:) LAYERS
The 2 overlapping squares icon at the top right of the screen is the Layer button. Tap that to see all of the layers or to add a new layer.
+= create a new layer
Tap the layer name once and hit “rename” to change it.
Drawing in a layer leaves the artwork underneath unaffected.
You can toggle a layer on and off by clicking the square to the right of the name.
You can make a “layer group” by swiping right on the layers you want to group and then tap on the 3 lines at the top to the right of the layers title.
That groups them. You can then name the layer.
Tap and hold to drag layers where you want them.
Quick Menu: Swipe to the left and a menu pops up with you lock, duplicate, and delete
Alpha Lock a layer: 2 finger swipe right
This keeps all of the changes you make on that layer you are working only - great for shading!
Tap on a layer and longer menu pops up so you can see all of your options available.
TO DUPLICATE AN AREA or LAYER:
Go to the left hand list beside the layer name and choose copy and select what you want to copy. Then tap three fingers and a menu will pop up on the screen - choose paste.
