Using a digital program of your choice, create a collage that tells a part (or all) of your life story. For example: you can represent your childhood, all of your school years, or just your high school career. (The instructions will be for ipiccy.com, but you are free to use another program instead.)
To do this, follow the following steps and guidelines:
* Create a digital collage that combines 6-8 separate photos.
* One or more need to be artwork or backgrounds that you have created.
* One or more need to be a photograph that you have taken.
* You may also add something you’ve handwritten.
* All collage pieces need to tell the story of your life to this point.
Start by taking and gathering your photos and putting them on your desktop.
You can edit/crop/boost color on them by opening them in Photos first to make them
ready to go. If you are using Ipiccy to create your collage, click “Create a Design” and choose the square. You may also use canva.com or another program of your choice. (Share with me if you find a good one!)
Click the little square in the upper left corner to add a photo (have one ready on your desktop). Once uploaded, drag it to your 8x10 rectangle.
Play around with any stickers you would like to add (do not go crazy with this - less is more!)
**THE NEXT PART IS IMPORTANT - do NOT skip this part:
Click the box that says DESIGNER and toggle down to the EDITOR button. Click EXPORT and go to the Editor - play around with the tools - especially the photo effects (wand icon) and texture (bottom icon - looks like a fingerprint)
Put a frame on it that will highlight the work. Save to your computer as your name.
Save it as your name and submit it to Google classroom along with the blog post link.
Reflection Questions:
1) How did you decide what to portray in your biographical collage? Did you express the most important parts of you? Why or why not?
2) What was successful about this piece? What parts did you struggle with or would you like to change?
3) Do you find digital art freeing or restrictive? Why?
