I absolutely believe that life is more interesting when you are curious. Apparently, Walt Disney agrees with me!
This project is an opportunity for you to get curious about something. You have two options for your choice of topic:
1) Something about which you are already interested and you would like to learn more.
2) Something that you are very curious about, but unfamiliar with.
To help you out, download this pdf and answer the questions in your sketchbook.

After you have figured out what your topic is, I want you to research it and find some new information. LEARN SOMETHING!
Take notes on your new info and then brainstorm how you can create an artwork inspired by your topic. You may do a shaded or colored pencil drawing, acrylic, tempera or watercolor painting, sculpture (not clay), mixed media collage, etc. Include the new information somewhere/somehow in the artwork.
The topics are pretty wide open, but cannot be inappropriate for school. If you are unsure about this - ask me! For example, you might be interested in or curious about hip hop dance, country music, baking cheesecakes, playing lacrosse, becoming a cop, how electricity works, planting a garden, how to build your own robot...I could go on and on!
Show me your sketches and your new info and then you may begin your project.
Stay curious, my friend! :-)
REFLECTION QUESTIONS:
1. What was your chosen topic of interest and what new information did you learn? Be specific!
2. How does choosing your own learning motivate you?
3. What more can you do to learn even MORE about your topic?
